About Me

I am an enterprising Singaporean who upon graduating from National University of Singapore in 2004 with his Bachelor degree in Computing (Technology), joined HI Corporation Singapore Pte Ltd as a Content Developer and was involved in mobile content development for both local and overseas market. By the time I left HI Corporation’s employment to head back to school, I was holding the position of Senior Engineer in the Middleware department. I am grateful to HI Corporation because I learnt a lot about the up-and-coming mobile industry and I firmly believe that this is the industry to watch in the next few years.

I am extremely driven and entrepreneurial, having taken part in several programming and business competitions with successful experiences securing 3rd party funding for software development projects and developing business plans for competitions. But my experiences have not always been pleasant…it is this fear of failing yet again that spurred me to enroll in a Technology Entrepreneurship program offered by Nanyang Technopreneurship Centre in Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (NTU).

In case you are wondering, I agree that people have the right to be skeptical about universities teaching entrepreneurship. You cannot teach someone to be entrepreneurial but you can teach someone who is already entrepreneurial how to avoid many common mistakes made by new startups and how to sustain his venture.

I have recently completed the post-graduate diploma portion of this course, receiving a “Graduate Diploma in Technopreneurship & Innovation Program” from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (NTU) as well as a “Post-Graduate Certificate of Completion for UW-NTU Technology Entrepreneurship & Innovation Graduate Diploma Program” jointly awarded by NTU and University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, US in 2007.

I has spent extended periods of time abroad in countries like China, United States and Japan for the purpose of both work and studies and this invaluable experience has broaden my outlook. I realize that while I harbor ambitious goals, I still have a long way to go before I hit my targets and I wish my future self all the best.

December 18th, 2008 Update:
I am currently employed in a Japanese 3D animation company called Polygon Pictures under the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Strategic Training & Attachment (STRAT) program.
